The peanut butter creme filled long johns are ridiculous! The donuts are spot on and the staff is always friendly. Make sure to check out their local coffee selection and fresh baked breads.

I came for the coffee and the doughnuts. Had a cinimon twist which tasted like a plain glazed donut. 3/5 for that but the coffee, not sure if it was the styrofoam cup or what was unremarkable. Service I had was fine (4/5). Also still 5 dollar min for credit cards FYI. Still would not come back.

Bakery with tables to the side, and a tea shop on the other side. Bagel was a "bread" Bagel not a real water processed bagel, but it tasted o.k. They do not have real butter--only margarine--a negative in my book, especially for a bakery! Coffee was good. They had two kinds of Cinnamon roll. One was more of a fried doughnut, the other more like a baked roll. I opted for the larger baked one. Too much frosting, and obviously baked yesterday--would not order again. Long johns seemed popular, and they have various doughnuts. Seems to be a local gathering spot--lots of folks at a large table obviously local. Fair prices. I would return, but would order differently next time.

If you're looking for anything other than donuts this is not the place to go. Breakfast items are not fresh and are overpriced for what you get. For those who appreciate good coffee - what you get here is an afterthought (burnt, watery bad diner coffee). But perhaps I was going here for the wrong things. Take with a grain of salt. Also, staff was not very friendly.

Delicious donuts! The cinnamon roll was amazing. I was skeptical because it didn't look like it had a ton of ooey gooey cinnamon filling, but it was absolutely amazing. My mom also got a pecan sticky bun type thing which was also good. We would definitely go back.

Wonderful muffins. We're told their pies are incredible . Must try that the next time we're in town.

Been here twice on vacation and everything has been consistent. The donuts are fresh and the coffee is decent. You can pay with a credit card but I'd recommend cash as there is a $5 CC minimum. Even with a long line they moved me through quickly. They also serve breakfast sandwiches at a limited selection. Egg and cheese on a bagel or croissant.

I visited the bakery on memorial day weekend. The place was quiet and nearly empty, which I liked. Service was ordinary, a young girl who seemed bored to tears and like she despised everyone. The coffee was watered-down and gross. I was expecting more of a coffee house-feel, but it felt like a doll house. I didn't try any of the food. Really I was just disappointed in the crappy coffee.

Good coffee and OK breakfast sandwich but when someone is checking out and hands you a credit card and you mention a credit card minimum and they have no cash and then you require them to buy more stuff that's just NOT good customer service. Maybe say something like, we normally have a minimum but don't worry about it this time because then the would actually probably come back. 2/5 Service 3/5 Food 4/5 Coffee Just get rid of the credit card minimum, if your fees are too high find another processing company!

I seen someone else mention "throw back bakery" , I think that's a perfect way to describe it. If I lived in a sleepy small town this is the kind of place I would be at every weekend. I think we were there most morning in the week we stayed in Mackinaw City. Everything we tried for the donuts to pastries was excellent. They had a nice variety every morning and it all looks good. They have a nice palace to sit and eat or like most seemed to do just grab and go

Decent baked goods, and very good coffee. They also offer breakfast sandwiches and smoothies, with bottled juices for sale.

Best donuts we have found...our favorite is the cream filled long john and the cake (reg or chocolate) with chocolate icing. The long johns have a little crispy goodness and the cake is moist and has a little chew. They open at 6am...go get you some!

On our annual family trip to Mackinaw this is our first stop. My husband has been going here for probably over 20 years at this point. The pastries are delicious and homemade, the coffee is hot, the perfect combo for a great bakery. The staff is super friendly and always welcomes with a smile. Our favorites are the cream filled long john and the peanut butter filled long john, its a special treat that we cant get at home. If you're visiting Mackinaw or heading to the ferry to go to the island, stop by grab a donut, you wont regret it!

Best pasties in the lower peninsula. Good baked goods too, but get some pasties for lunch--you can get them cold or warmed. So get a bear claw for breakfast and a few cold pasties to go so you can heat them up later for lunch. You're welcome.

My husband wanted to do things that didn't involve as much touristy type things, ie., local restaurants, and sights...Nothing that involved the junk that is for sale in the city and on the island. And this was exactly what we were looking for! We visited this place each morning we were in town. Just like the other reviews say, this is a true bakery...like they used to be. I recommend the peanut butter filled long John - very good. I expected actual peanut butter, but it's a flavored cream...still wonderful! It's a shop run by looked to be a small family...loved it.

handy stop in the morning, especially if you're headed for a ferry. wide assortment of coffee, baked goods and quick breakfast items. it is a nice homey atmosphere and is kind of a old fashioned stop, which i enjoyed. if ya need a handy cup o coffee while out walking in the morning and maybe crave a roll, stop in.
